Jaima Brown, Director of Design for Jaima Brown Home, is the newest personality to emerge on the Home furnishings Scene. Energetic and innovative, her experience in design spans 20 years and embodies a sensibility of elegance, serenity and joy. While growing up, Jaima often painted along side her mother. She has many happy memories of her mother's art studio where painting classes were held. Jaima discovered her passion for design and color during these sessions, leading her to pursue a degree in Art History and Fine Arts. Jaima's trademark hat and her love of gardening can be attributed to her English heritage. Jaime spent many summers in England surrounded by the inherent beauty of the English countryside. This experience refined her sense of color, which is translated into her collections today. Travel is Jaima's greatest source of inspiration. While visiting exotic areas around the globe, Jaima enjoys antiquing, scouring quaint markets, touring museums and looking to architecture to spark ideas. Jaima's love of acquiring documents for her archives includes antique books, fabric swatches, vintage wallpapers and porcelain pieces. Her fascination with the history of design never wanes. Over the years, Jaima has served on the Board of Directors for the Color Marketing Group and presently retains Chair Holder status with CMG. Jaima frequently speaks across the country on the history of wallpaper as well as upcoming trends. Jaima's other interests include interior design, skiing, biking, swimming and a love of animals. Midnight, her English Black Lab, is featured in every Jaima Brown Home collection. Loved by all, Midnight is often found napping on antique documents in the studio. Additionally, Jaima is currently active with Easter Seals of Metropolitan Chicago.
